Air pollution again rises in tehran
TEHRAN, Iran, December 13, 1999 (IRNA) -- Iran' meteorological center said here monday that with halt to raining, Tehran pollution, which declined relatively in the last days of the past week and in the first two days of this week, began to rise again monday morning.
At 9:00 am Monday morning the concentration of two pollutants, carbon monoxide and suspended particles in Tehran was close to 'crisis' point and panels installed in several crossings in the city showed the level of other pollutants in the air as also alarming.
The meteorological experts believe that after the stoppage of rain and arrival of colder weather, air 'inversion' will get worse.
Llast week, Tehran pollution passed the crisis point and schools were closed for one day.
